Alleged iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
specs suggest better battery life
and cameras
With the release date just around the
corner, Apple is all set to remove the
wraps off the next-generation
smartphones, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
next month, as per previous leaks. Ever
since the first news about iPhone 7
surfaced, lots of rumours, leaks and
genuine news have been floating around
the Internet for a while now.
Both the handsets are expected to come
with Apple’s new A10 chip, which offers
about 20-30% jump in performance and
reduced battery consumption. Also,
previous renders of the iPhone 7 and
iPhone 7 Plus reveal that Apple could ditch
the 3.5mm audio jack for both variants
and the 7 Plus might be designed with a
‘superior’ dual lens camera. In addition,
both the devices are expected to come
with an iOS 10 operating system and have
cameras with OIS (optical image
stabilization).
However, a new report by Twitter user
@the_malignant includes some information
about hardware specifications. It is
recommended that you consider the
information with a pinch of salt, as the
user has a mixed track on leaks. However,
given the previous leaks, many of them do
make sense.
iPhone7
The iPhone7 will feature a 4.7-inch display with 750×1334 pixel resolution. The device is expected to
come with 2GB of LDDR4 RAM and a larger
battery capacity of 1,960 mAh. Also, the
device will feature a 12-megapixel camera
with 1/2.6 sensor size, F1.9, and 1.3 µm
pixel size.
iPhone 7 Plus
The iPhone 7 Plus (also referred to as the
iPhone 7 Pro by some) will feature a 5.5-
inch display with a resolution of
1920×1080 pixels. It will also include 3GB
of RAM and have a battery capacity of
2,910 mAh.
As mentioned earlier, the iPhone 7 Plus
will feature a dual-camera configuration
that will help take better pictures in all
lighting conditions. The iPhone 7 Plus/Pro
is likely to launch with two 12-megapixel
cameras with 1/3 sensor size and F1.9,
but the data of the dual-camera system
are not yet available.
All those who are looking for a big update
this year may be disappointed. Despite its
solid number status, this year’s iPhone is
widely believed to be an incremental
update ahead of a much more significant
one in 2017.
Since, 2017 will mark iPhone’s 10th
anniversary in the market, Apple may
want to celebrate it in style by saving
something special for the new iPhone.
According to the rumours, Apple’s plans
for 2017 iPhone include a massive design
overhaul, inclusion of AMOLED display
technology, the removal of the home key
altogether and much more.
